Capcom. Since the days of Street Fighter 2, Super Street Fighter 2, Turbo Super Street Fighter 2, Super Ultimate Mega Hyper Street Fighter 2—okay, we made up that last one— you’ve really transformed the act of producing mini-sequels to fighting games into an art form.
The latest proof: Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3.
It’s been just a couple of months since we fawned and obsessed over the new characters in Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, but its new-and-improved version is already coming our way.
That means that if you’re planning to buy MVC 3, well, don’t, and just wait until the Ultimate version arrives.
With the new game, as has been revealed in a leak, we can expect a new set of challengers to join an already meaty fray. 12 new fighters to be exact will be putting their dukes up when the game releases in November this year. Some of the better-known characters include Ghost Rider, Dead Rising’s Frank West, The Avengers’ Hawkeye, finger-pointing lawyer Phoenix Wright, Resident Evil’s resident monster-boss Nemesis, and ninja returnee, Strider Hiryu.
Fan favorite, Megaman, still isn’t in the game though. But hey, Capcom has to save something for Ultimate Super Mega Marvel Vs. Capcom 3: Turbo Championship Edition, right?
Now, if not Megaman, we know that some of you have a list of characters too that you’d like to see included. And all of you would have good reasons why you want someone in the game. But what if the sole reason for choosing would be sexiness? Well then, heads up guys, because here’s our list of Marvel and Capcom hotties that we definitely wouldn’t mind seeing pull a 99-hit combo on us.
Kyoko Minazuki
You might’ve seen her: breaking bones in Playstation fighting game Rival Schools
You’d want to see her because: a character known amongst hardcore Rival Schools fan as “The Devil in a White Robe” is definitely a character worth playing as. More importantly, she’s a sexy school nurse AND an orthopedic expert, albeit one that breaks rather than mend other people’s bones.
Shadow Cat
You might’ve seen her: in X-Men: The Last Stand played by Ellen Page
You’d want to see her because: she’s got some really unique mutant powers (she can go through physical objects) that would make for some interesting special moves in a game like MVC 3. In her earlier comic appearances, she was portrayed as the X-Men’s kid sister. But she’s grown since, and now dons that tight X-Men suit pretty nicely.
Daniella
You might’ve seen her: chasing after a helpless girl with an intention to maim in survival-horror PS2 game Haunting Ground
You’d want to see her because: a girl who uses a giant shard of glass as a weapon is intriguing. She’s gorgeous, but also kind of psychotic. Being one of the main enemies in Haunting Ground, she is described as being “prone to mood swings and maniacal laughter.” Hey, MVC 3 could always use a psycho-chick character.
Elektra
You might’ve seen her: in that Elektra movie starring Jennifer Garner
You’d want to see her because: MVC 3 is in dire need of more sexy ninjas, what with the continuing absence of Psylocke. Sure, Elektra doesn’t have the same level of mutant powers as Psylocke, but with her superhuman mastery of ninja skills and her dual sai daggers, we’re pretty sure she’d be able to hold her own.
Maki Genryusai
You might’ve seen her: side-scrolling in 90s beat-em-up Final Fight 2, or more recently, kicking ass in Capcom Vs. SNK 2.
You’d want to see her because: in Final Fight 2, she beat up an entire army of muscle-bound 90s-style hoodlum freaks without even breaking a sweat. And she does it in skimpy clothing, no less. She appeared in 2001’s Capcom Vs. SNK 2, but we haven’t heard from her since, and that’s a sad thing, because the girl can fight!
Oyu
You might’ve seen her: slicing demons up in Onimusha 2
You’d want to see her because: katana-wielding chicks are always a worthy addition in our books. Plus, she ain’t just some plucky samurai off the streets who just decided to rid Japan of an invading demon force; she’s actually the sister of the game’s main baddie, Oda Nobunaga. Girl’s got some balls, wouldn’t you agree?
Black Widow
You might’ve seen her: in Iron Man 2 played by Scarlett Johanson
You’d want to see her because: The gaming world needs more characters played by Scarlett Johansson. And we don’t care that she doesn’t have any in-born superpowers; her proficiency in special, highly advanced gadgets and weapons would at the very least give MVC 3 another character that doesn’t rely on beams coming out of their palms. We also approve that she’s also an expert in the art of wearing a tight black cat suit.
Emma Frost
You might’ve seen her: in X-Men: First Class played by January Jones
You’d want to see her because: she’s ridiculously hot and is one of the most powerful telepaths in the Marvel universe. Making her even hotter is that, in the comics, she’s gone on to become the X-Men’s leader after Charles Xavier relinquishes the role.
